Welcome to the Idlewild Studio Arts blog. I’m Jenn, and I make abstract art on canvas and paper, small works, and wearable pieces made from fragments of my original artwork.

I thought this could be a sweet little sliver of the interwebs where I could share . . . stuff.

Maybe a closer look at a piece, a glimpse of something in progress, something that’s inspired me, or ideas I’m trying on for size. Probably a few of the colossal messes I seem to make whenever this artist aspect of my life is involved. Sometimes those messes become paintings. And sometimes they just remain colossal messes.

I rarely know exactly where a piece is going when I begin. So it seems only fitting that this blog should have room to wander, too.

I’d love to say I’ll post here on a perfectly regular schedule, but we should probably get acquainted before making promises like that. In time, grasshopper, in time. Gotta get my sea legs . . . er, blog legs, first.

For now, I’ll take the same approach here as I do with my art: follow intuition and inspiration, get curious about the unexpected bits, and see where it all goes.

Thanks for wandering in! Make yourself at home. Just check the chair for wet paint.
